Subclass 190 NSW State Nominated Permanent Visa

Subclass 190 Visa NSW Nomination is a permanent visa allowing you to live and work in anywhere in NSW. This is a skilled nominated visa for people in a range of occupations that are in high demand. This visa is also known as the Skilled Nominated Subclass 190 Visa. Generally, you must have resided in NSW continuously for the past 6 months to be eligible for Subclass 190 Visa NSW Nomination.

However, some occupations required you to be living in NSW and to have been employed in NSW for at least 1 year in your nominated occupation before you can apply for Subclass 190 Visa.

NSW government has a selection-based nomination or selection process for the 190 Visa from the Department of Immigration’s SkillSelect to apply for NSW nomination. If you are nominated by NSW, you will get an additional 5 points towards your overall EoI points score.

How to apply for 190 Visa NSW Nomination?

  1. Check to make sure your occupation is in the NSW 190 Priority Skilled Occupation List. Please note that the occupations in this list will be updated on a regularly basis.
  2. If your occupation is listed in the NSW 190 Priority Skilled Occupation List, you should attempt your English language test, for eg IELTS, PTE, etc, to help you increase your points. You will need a minimum of 60 points to be able to apply for 190 Visa NSW Nomination (click here to find out if you have enough points). You should also have your skills assessed as positive or suitable or job ready. You must have done the above before you lodge your EoI because you will be given 14 days to lodge your 190 Visa NSW Nomination application when invited to do so.
  3. Create an account on SkillSelect to lodge your EoI or Expression of Interest. If you intend to include your family members in your 190 Visa NSW Nomination, you should tick “Yes” when asked so that when you are invited to apply for the Skilled Nominated Subclass 190 visa, they can also make a combined application. You should select “NSW” when ask in which State or Territory you are interested in seeking nomination from. Once you have completed your EoI, SkillSelect will calculate your points score. You should keep your EoI number and password safe as you will need them when you apply for your Subclass 190 visa.

If you are invited by the NSW government to lodge an application for 190 Visa NSW Nomination, you will have 14 days to do so by clicking on a link provided in your invitation email. However, you should not attempt to apply unless you have the following documents. Once you have started the application you must complete it as there is no facility to allow you to save and return to the application later. There is an application fee payable by credit card or other approved payment method.

What are the documents required to support 190 Visa NSW Nomination

  1. Your current passport to confirm your age
  2. Your English test results if you are claiming points for either Proficient or Superior English
  3. Letters from employer(s) confirming your employment relating to your nominated occupation
  4. Your qualification Award(s) and transcript(s) – if you have completed a Master or PhD by research in Science or IT or Engineering you will get an extra 5 points
  5. If you are an accountant or engineer or ICT professional and have completed your professional year, evidence of having completed professional year (completed in the last 48 months)
  6. If you are claiming points for your partner’s skill, provide skills assessment and English test result
  7. If you are claiming points for having completed credentialed community language, provide evidence
  8. Your resume

Once your NSW Nomination is approved, you will receive an email from SkillSelect inviting you to apply for the Skilled Nominated Subclass 190 Visa. You will be given 60 days to apply for this permanent visa.
